Active Death and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefits Update
Effective August 1, 2019, the Fund’s Death and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Benefits are insured through Lincoln Financial Group. Your collective bargaining agreement spells out whether or not your plan provides Death and Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefits through the Central PA Teamsters Health and Welfare Fund and, if so, which Plan you are covered under.
Benefits Offered through Lincoln Financial Group Active Death and Dismemberment Plan
Funeral Planning and Concierge Services offer funeral planning assistance to family members through Everest. Round-the-clock assistance is available for funeral planning issues, including information on funeral home price comparisons and Express Pay, an innovative claims payment service that can deliver benefits to pay funeral expenses in as little as 48 hours.
Beneficiary Assist Counseling Services offer professional help after a loved one’s loss or terminal illness. Benefits include legal advice, financial planning and emotional counseling for up to one year after a loss.
EstateGuidance® Will Services helps you create a simple, legally binding will online.
Travel Assistance and ID Theft Protection Services offer you and your family access to Emergency Medical Assistance when you are traveling more than 100 miles from home for 90 days or less. You are also offered Identity Theft Assistance prevention, detection and resolution services.
Supplemental Life Benefits Available through Lincoln Financial Group
New participants in the Fund’s Death and Dismemberment Plan may purchase Supplemental Life Benefits through Lincoln Financial Group. You must enroll in Supplemental Life within 90 days of eligibility for Death and Dismemberment benefits with the Fund. You will receive enrollment information in your new member packet.
